SERVICES 10.30 am Every Sunday

Great Mongeham Society

Local farmer Matt Solley gave a very interesting talk about Farming Today. The technology now involved is amazing. Matt was awarded Farmer Weekly Farm Manager of 2008. It was good to welcome visitors to the meeting.

April 19th will have Trust Membersw Paul Wells and Jeff Howe talking about The Western Heights in Dover. 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Visitors welcome. PS-B

Great Mongeham Horticultural Society

The March meeting was very well attended and members welcomed back Jean Griffin from Radio Kent who co-hosts a very popular Gardening programme every Sunday morning. It would seem that many Society members are keen listeners.  On this occasion Jean spoke for some time about new products launched this year on display at a trade fair she had recently attended. She brought along many new tools, fertilizers and weed killers for members to see and she also gave members lots of tips. Judging by the number of questions members enjoyed her talk and I feel sure she will be booked to come again next year. Bearing in mind she has a round trip of nearly 200 miles to reach our Parish Hall, her enthusiasm for all things gardening was there to see. At the end of the evening Chairman Keith reminded members that show time was just round the corner, reminding members to get their entries into the Show Secretary in plenty of time. JB

Saint Martin’s WI

Saint Martin’s WI did very well in the making of sugar paste flowers at the March meeting - easy once you know how!  April 12th will be their 39th birthday and Mr Wilks will talk about Tigers, Bells and Temples.   Visitors and new members welcome, 7.30pm start in the Parish Hall. PS-B
